Guilty Gear Strive developers are reconsidering their thinking on the user interface's movement and are planning changes - EventHubs

One of the most common complaints that surfaced during the Guilty Gear Strive beta was regarding the user interface. Although the developers mentioned a goal to minimize eye movement with the design of Guilty Gear Strive's UI, we were left with an impression that they were considering changes as a result of all the feedback that they had received on the matter.

During the second entry of their Developer's Backyard, Daisuke Ishiwatari, the General Director for Guilty Gear Strive, revealed plans to change the user interface's movement.

"Our goal was to make it so that the player could check their health bar and Burst gauge in a single glance," said Mr. Ishiwatari. "As a result, however, the player could no longer look at a fixed place on the screen to check their gauge, meaning they had to search for it."

Previously, the Burst icon would move as a player's health bar would drain. Ironically, this would increase the amount of eye movement that was needed in order to ascertain a player's resources.

"We've heard your feedback and reconsidered our own thinking, so we are planning to change the UI's movement," concluded Mr. Ishiwatari.

Based on this, it seems likely that the Burst icon will be made so that it remains in a fixed position so that it won't be necessary to search for it during gameplay.
