Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp is receiving another improvement on iOS. 9to5Mac is reporting that the company is bringing a new user interface for watching videos from Instagram, YouTube and other sites on the messaging app.
The improvement is currently rolling out the beta version of WhatsApp for iOS and is already available in the Android beta.
The latest beta version 2.21.220.15 for WhatsApp for iPhones has received a new user interface for picture-in-picture (PiP) video. The video popup now features a new control bar. Which allows WhatsApp users to move the PiP window easily across the screen. Apart from that it also includes some handy shortcuts for full screen and more.
While the improvements in PiP mode might be the major part of the update, several beta users are also reporting some changes while playing YouTube videos in WhatsApp. As per the reports, the app now plays YouTube videos in full screen mode.
As mentioned, the feature is now rolling out to iOS beta testers and is already available for Android beta users. Meanwhile, it is speculated that the feature will make to the final build in phased manner in coming months. It is also important to note that these features are in the testing phase and might not make it to the final version of the app.
