Do you use YouTube TV to watch ESPN, ABC, CBS, FOX, and more? You may soon have a new user interface, especially when it comes to your DVR library.

Thanks to a post on Facebook, we got our first look at the updated User Interface thanks to Richard Hughes, who allowed us to use his image.

Update YouTube TV has confirmed the rollout of the updated Library page.

“We’ll be continuing to evolve our product via a holistic viewer-centric approach leveraging our core principles. We’re just getting started with Live and Library — we will continue to thread ways to empower users on Home, improving the discovery and browse experiences. We’ll also bring more flexibility and interactivity during live playback and add the ability to easily switch between user profiles — all while ensuring TV is made for you… stay tuned!” YouTube TV said in a statement on their website.

YouTube went on to say that there is a change to the live TV guide that will include highlighting the current show you are watching to help you quickly find it.

From the looks of it, Google is bringing the Google TV user interface into the YouTube TV app. Gone is the left-hand vertical menu bar, and instead, it has been replaced with a horizontal menu bar below two rows of suggested content to help drive views. Clearly, this update is meant to bring more suggested on-demand and DVRed content to the front compared to the older version.

According to multiple reports, the updated user interface is being tested on multiple devices. If your account has been added to the test group, you will see this new user interface on all smart TV devices.

Google has not announced any rollout plans for the updated user interface, but it seems that testing, for now, is limited to a small number of users. If all goes well, typically, Google will roll out the updated interface to all YouTube TV customers in the next few weeks to a few months.

If you want access to the new user interface, sadly, at this time, there is nothing you can do to be added to the test group. You will need to wait until Google rolls it out to more subscribers.
