Texans wide receiver Keke Coutee is healthy again after being sidelined during a week of training camp with a minor stress fracture in his foot.
Coutee is practicing Monday and isn't expected to be listed on the injury report.
The former fourth-round draft pick from Texas Tech made the 53-man roster while Chad Hansen was released and signed to the practice squad. Rookie wide receiver Isaiah Coulter, a fifth-round draft pick from Rhode Island, is on injured reserve with a neck injury.
During the final scrimmage, Texans coach and general manager Bill O'Brien said that Coutee participated fully, had return duties and lined up in the slot and as an outside receiver.
Now Playing:
A year ago, Coutee was stuck in a familiar pattern with his rhythm and progress interrupted by injuries and concentration lapses.
He sprained his ankle in the preseason opener against the Green Bay Packers, derailing his season. As a rookie, Coutee had chronic hamstring problems.
Entering the third year of a four-year, $3.189 million contract and due a $750,000 base salary this year, Coutee played in just nine games with four starts last season. He was a healthy scratch for several games, catching 22 passes for 254 yards on 36 targets. He ran for one touchdown on an option pitch.
As a rookie, Coutee was limited to six regular-season games and two starts because of chronic hamstring injuries as he caught 28 passes for 287 yards and one touchdown. Coutee had an encouraging playoff performance in a wild-card loss to the Colts, catching 11 passes for 110 yards and one touchdown as a rookie.
