MUNCIE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's golf 54-hole record stood for all of 14 days before Kasey Lilly broke it again.

Lilly, who holds the best scoring average in Mastodon history, shot a 204 (-6) at the Earl Yestingmeier Invitational, with a final round of 69 on Saturday, September 18. His 204 broke his own previous record of 208, which he shot at the EKU Fall Intercollegiate two weeks ago.

Lilly was the runner-up at Ball State's event, only finishing behind Cole Corder of Wright State, who turned in a 200 (-10). This is the second runner-up of Lilly's career, the other coming at the Horizon League Championship last spring. This is also his third top-five and sixth top-10. He started his day by going 1-under through four holes with birdies on holes three and four. After a double-bogey on six, he rattled off nine straight pars. He then birdied 16 to go back to even for the day.

As a team, Purdue Fort Wayne finished in a tie for fourth at the tournament with fellow Horizon League member Oakland with a score of 858. Wright State won the event with a 818 (-22) team score. The 'Dons' 858 tied the fourth-best 54-hole team score in program history.

With just one bogey on the front nine, Tyler Green shot a 73 for a two-day total of 215. Green parred holes three through 12, finishing with 15 pars in his final round. He tied for 24th.

Hunter Mefford carded a 77 to finish 35th in the 81-player field. He dropped a birdie on the par-3 16th to go with his nine pars. His 219 for the week is a career-best.

Turning in three birdies on the front nine, Reece Compton recorded a 74. He got birdies to fall on four, five and nine. He turned in five straight pars from 13 through 17 to place 39th with a weekend score of 221.

Brett Seward finished in 60th after a final round of 77 to total 227. He started his day with two pars and a birdie on the 264-yard, par-4 third. He parred six and seven, then had five consecutive pars on the back nine.

Burke Pitz competed as an individual, turning in a 1-under 69. He registered a 226 for the weekend, tying for 56th.

The Mastodons will take the course again on October 4 when they will play in Cleveland State's Tom Tontimonia Invitational.
