AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn was just dangerous enough to give No. 2 Georgia a few tense moments. For the first time this season, the Bulldogs trailed. Their first-team defense also gave up its first touchdown of the season.
But in a game where the underdog played like one, taking chances and trying to get its home crowd involved, it was the favorite who won again by going cool and methodical.
Georgia won, 34-10, behind 231 passing yards from Stetson Bennett, 135 receiving yards from Ladd McConkey and two rushing touchdowns by Zamir White. That and a defense that bent more than previous games but was still dominant enough. The Bulldogs trailed for just over 5 minutes, yielding a field goal on the game's opening possession before answering with their own, then taking control with a couple of second-quarter touchdowns.
It was another show of strength by Georgia (6-0), which has wins over three ranked teams, and has held opponents to a total of 33 points this season.
