Lindsay Lohan is back again, again. She announced on Tuesday a new podcast venture that’s scheduled for an end-of-the-year release, or possibly early 2022. The concept is conversations with friends—like Sally Rooney’s debut novel! And if that’s too niche a reference, then it’s like most podcasts. The actor turned professional expat wrote in her Instagram announcement that she’s “looking forward to…having intimate conversations with thought leaders and friends across all industries.”
This is exciting news for Lohan stans. The last time she made something for us—besides the recent puzzling furry NFT, which apparently got rejected by the furry community like a hair graft that didn’t take before disappearing from the internet completely—it was a Vanderpump Rules–style reality show in Mykonos that didn’t quite stick the landing. In it, her interview style was a little combative, and her various accents were perplexing. Hopefully, in this, she can really be herself instead of attempting to be the tough-but-fair mother figure to a group of Americans serving $20 vodka sodas.
Details about the podcast are scant, including what it will be called. For its part, Studio71, which is producing and distributing the podcast, told Deadline that Lohan is set to “share her authentic voice,” which we haven’t heard since Herbie Fully Loaded.
The best news of Lindsay Lohan fall also bears repeating here: She’s going to be playing the role of a lifetime, a romantic comedy for Netflix in which she stars as a spoiled heiress with ski accident-induced amnesia, with only a handsome single father lodge owner to care for her.
