Arduino Opla kit

Also know as the Oplà interface, it includes: sensors for temperature, humidity, barometric, acceleration, rotation (it has a six axis IMU) and colour, plus a small colour LCD, touch pads, a gesture sensor and two relays to switch external circuits.

“The MKR IoT Carrier has all the small sensors and circuits already  built-in, giving us more time to focus on programming and to create amazing and unique applications,” according to the organisation.

Together with the MKR WiFi 1010 and other bits and pieces, the interface board is available as the Arduino Oplà IoT Kit (below).

Arduino is promoting the use of this kit with its cloud service.

“Oplà acts as the physical interface with the Arduino IoT Cloud, providing you with control at your fingertips via the Arduino IoT remote app,” it said. “Configure and manage all the settings via the Arduino IoT cloud, with easy-to-create dashboards providing real-time readings from smart devices. With the Oplà IoT kit you can claim 12 free months of Arduino Cloud Maker Plan.”

In order to activate the nominally free 12 months subscription, a credit card number must be entered, although it will not initially be charged. Arduino also points out its cloud is not available in Brazil.
