Houston weather forecast: Scattered downpours again Wednesday - KTRK-TV

kembaliui.blogspot.com
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Make sure you grab your umbrella before you head out today! Tropical moisture will combine with the sea breeze to give us another round of scattered thunderstorms.

Lightning and brief, heavy rain will be the main threats with the storms. Most of them will pop up between 11 a.m. and 4 p. m although we could see storms especially near the coast in the morning.

An unusually strong September cold front will continue move to through the northwest part of the state on Wednesday. The interstate 35 corridor has a good chance to feel cooler temps and lower humidity by Friday. That front will more than likely stall just to our west so that means more heat and humidity for us.

This coming weekend, we will be watching a large area of tropical moisture moving toward us from the Gulf. This will likely bring widely scattered downpours Sunday and beyond, and we will be monitoring this tropical moisture carefully for any signs of tropical development. At this time most computer models show just a broad area of low pressure developing and moving into Texas, but with light wind shear and warm waters, we'll have to keep an eye on it.
