Eastern Michigan University soccer student-athlete Alia Frederick (Linden, Mich.-Linden) was named as a Academic All-District selection, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced, June 3.The senior becomes the third Eagle in program history to earn Academic All-District honors twice in a career. Frederick garnered second team honors in 2019 before moving up to first team in 2020-21. Previously, Emily Dzik was a second team honoree in 2013 and a first team selection in 2014, while Stephanie Clarke collected third team accolades in 2011 before jumping to the first team in 2013.
Frederick has maintained a 4.0 GPA in her field of study, biology, throughout her distinguished career. On the field, the Linden, Mich. native started eight matches for the Eagles this season, logging 656 minutes and adding two assists. Frederick has recorded two goals and six assists in her career.
The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early July.
