Denver gas prices are now averaging $3.33 per gallon. That’s six cents higher than last Monday and 89 cents per gallon higher than a year ago, according to GasBuddy.
The prices at the pump in Denver are 27 cents per gallon higher than this time last month and 24 cents higher than the national average.
“With oil’s continued push higher, fueled by continued strong demand globally and production only slowly answering, gasoline prices have had no choice but following the national average last week setting a new 2021 high,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy, in a news release. “As we approach July 4, it appears the only way forward is for gas prices to continue their rise as Americans’ insatiable demand for gasoline continues to be the catalyst for the rise in price.”
The cheapest station around Denver is priced at $3.06 per gallon, which you can get at Sam’s Club in Lone Tree, near Park Meadows. Meanwhile, the most expensive is the Conco station on Speer Boulevard, running at $3.79 per gallon.
The national average price of gasoline has not risen as fast as it has in Denver. A week after the national price fell, it’s up 2.5 cents per gallon in the last week and 4.7 cents more per gallon from a month ago.
“With hurricane season soon coming into its prime, we have plenty of catalysts for a rise in price and few that could restrain the situation,” De Haan said. “Motorists should prepare to dig deeper for the second half of the summer, unfortunately.”
