Bowling is back….Again! - The Morning Sun

kembaliui.blogspot.com

Bowling leagues in mid-Michigan normally start the week after Labor Day.  This year, no exception. (See below).

Riverwood Lanes, managed by Pete Pineau, has been working hard all summer to have everything ready for returning bowlers.

Wish Pete well as you rejoin your teammates and return to “the original social network”… bowling leagues!

Come join them!

League lineage: $12 per bowler for 32-week leagues. In an effort to encourage bowlers to return, the first and last week lineage is FREE this season. (Bowler still pays normal league fees. Lineage fees from Week 1 and Week 32 can be allocated toward annual $22 certification fees, added to the league Prize Fund, or however each league decides.)

As for us, the Mount Pleasant USBC local association, we’ll continue serving “ALL mid-Michigan communities”.

Bowlers seem ready to return. Our “calling campaign” is still in progress.

Lots of messages left, but, hopefully, the word is getting out… BOWLING IS BACK! With that said, if you’re ready return to your USBC-certified league bowling, make sure to let someone know!

Call or text your captain and/or league official with your bowling plans for 2021-2022.

Our MP USBC Annual Certification fees remains $22. Weekly Adult bowling league fees vary by league – $12 to $22.

To prepare for the bowling season, Riverwood Lanes, is offering one-hour of FREE BOWLING to all league members.

Youth leagues begin on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021. 9 a.m. sign-up with 9:30 a.m. start.

Local schools have already started. The weekly routine is beginning for this school year. Saturday youth leagues begin on September 11th and will help break up that routine with FUN!

Youth sign-up information is at Riverwood or contact Becky Pope or me. Annual Youth Membership remains $10, ($4 USBC dues/ $6 local fee). Saturday Youth (3-person teams, ages 8-17) and Saturday Bumpers (ages 4-7), first week starts at 9 a.m.

The High School Prep youth league begins Monday, Oct. 4 just after school. This league is designed to help bowlers prepare for their high school bowling tryouts. Meets each Monday and Wednesday for six weeks. Cost: $120 for 12 sessions ($10 ea.)

My column next week will focus on state and national tournaments that require advanced planning, coordination with teammates and other bowlers, along with PROPERLY FILLING OUT AND SUBMITTING THE ENTRY FORM!

Once more, WELCOME BACK EVERYONE! I hope you’ve all found an opening in your favorite league!

See you sometime “on the lanes” during the 2021-2022 season. (Looks like four leagues for me again this season!)

Stay Safe, Stay Healthy.

Mid-Michigan can find all their bowling needs at Riverwood Lanes (MP), Gateway Lanes (Clare) & Pins (Ithaca)!
