Bayonne has arranged for a new round of COVID-19 testing at the Bayonne Community Museum, 229 Broadway and 9th Street, according to Mayor James Davis.

The city is re-establishing testing in response to the growing number of cases caused by the virus’s Delta variant.

All-purpose museum

The museum served as a testing site from December to February, before becoming a vaccination site in March. The vaccination site shuttered in May, rendering the museum as an events space again. The city’s primary vaccination site opened at the Korpi Ice Rink at Bayonne High School.

Testing will take place Thursdays from 1 to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It starts September 2.

The testing will be available on a walk-in basis and by appointment. Both rapid testing and regular testing will be offered. Days and hours may be expanded, depending on the demand.

Testing services will be provided by Immediate Care, LLC of Red Bank, New Jersey.

Not all details were available at press time. Davis urged residents to watch for updates at bayonnenj.org, the Office of Emergency Management Facebook page, and other social media.
