Colorado will be hot and smoky again on Monday. The Front Range has settled into a weather pattern of warm days, with smoke from California wildfires flowing right into the region’s air.
Not quite a copy & paste of yesterday's forecast, but today's weather will be very similar. Highs in the mid 90s for the plains, along with smoky skies are in the forecast. Avoid prolonged outdoor activities again today. #cowx

Greg Hanson from the National Weather Service (NWS) detailed the air flow’s straight westward trajectory, explaining the poor air comes from a hyper-active fire season.
“Not a lot of improvement today,” Hanson said of the air on Monday. “It is going to be in this for a while, as long as those wildfires are burning in the west.”
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) warns of possible respiratory issues for even healthy adults.
“Wildfire smoke from California and other western states is expected to continue to cause increased concentrations of fine particulate matter, reaching the Unhealthy category at times throughout the Colorado Front Range on Sunday and Monday,” CDPHE warned.
The monsoonal moisture that was in the area last week brought better air quality. That weather pattern has lost out to a high-pressure system in the western part of Colorado, bringing smoke from the west.
Denver is also under an ozone action alert, as ozone is forecasted to be at unhealthy levels for sensitive groups.
OZONE DAYS: Here’s what you can do to protect yourself
9pm (8/8) smoke model forecast update: A westerly jet stream will bring smoke from the California fires towards Colorado over the next two days. By the middle of the week, the jet stream will move north of Colorado. This may slowly decrease smoke by the end of the week. #COwx pic.twitter.com/AW11qmXmsg

Denver will reach 96 degrees on Monday, according to the NWS. Sun will try to poke its way through the smoke on a clear day in terms of clouds. Smoke will hang into the evening with a low of 62 degrees.
Tuesday will be similar. Sunny with a high of 93 degrees and a low of 61 degrees, all clouded by smoke.
Wednesday may be the hottest day of the week, with a high of 97 degrees and a low of 62 degrees. It should be a sunny day.
The NWS warns that smoke and poor air quality may stick around through at least the middle of this week.
