Come September and Apple will launch a slew of shiny new devices. Along with the products — mainly an iPhone and a watch — Apple is also expected to roll out major software updates for all its devices. While iOS 17 will garner all the attention, Apple does have more than a few nifty tricks for its newest watch as well. We have been testing the beta version of watchOS 10 and here’s what you need to know:

New Interface

Swiping on the Apple Watch display takes you to the Control Centre. However, watchOS 10 makes a sweeping change to that and a swipe will take you to widgets.Earlier, you had to press the side button to see the apps. Now, press the side button and it takes you to the

Control Centre. For longtime Watch users, this will be a big change and may take a little time to get used to.

Widgets also make their way to Apple Watch in the form of Smart Stack. There are multiple widgets now and you can see the weather, fitness rings — which is actually very impressive. You can see all the information you want to, just at a glance.
If you have the GPS+LTE variant, then the call screen has also become more compact.

Watch Faces

No one does watch faces better than Apple, as they look good and pack in a lot of information on a small display. There’s an all-new Snoopy face, which is a whole lot of fun. There’s also the Palette watch face, which as the name suggests, is quite colourful and can be customised with a lot of complications.

Mind Space

Apple spoke about giving mental health a lot of importance and now the Mindfulness app is the place for that. Users have the option to record their emotions and dailymoods. The feature is really interesting as it gives you the option to input your mood and add context to it as well.For instance, if you are feeling anxious at work, then you can put that in.

Apple has made quite an overhaul with watchOS 10 in terms of interface and functionality, The wait for watchOS 10 will be worth it.
