WhatsApp recently introduced the ability to send video messages. Now it appears that the Meta-owned platform is working on another feature which will bring change to the UI of the app. According to an online report, WhatsApp is rolling out a new interface for call notifications.
As reported by WABetaInfo, the popular instant messaging app has introduced the new call notifications interface for Android beta testers. With WhatsApp beta update version 2.23.16.14, the app is experimenting with a new interface. "A new interface for call notifications may be available for your WhatsApp account in case you get an incoming call. The changes are evident as the buttons that allow accepting or declining an incoming call now feature icons, which make it easier for the user to understand the action performed by each button," mentions the report.
As mentioned above, the new interface for call notifications is available to some beta testers and is expected to be made available for all the users soon.
Recently, Meta started rolling out a dedicated WhatsApp app for smartwatches running on Google’s Wear OS. Through this application, users gain the ability to conveniently respond to messages and even engage in Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calls directly from their smartwatches. Notably, this obviates the need for users to maintain a constant connection between their phone and watch. In addition to facilitating text and emoji exchanges, the app empowers users to swiftly send predefined responses and even create voice messages using their wrist-worn device. The stand-alone WhatsApp app tailored for Wear OS was formally introduced by Google at its annual developer conference, I/O 2023, held in the month of May.
