Pinellas County artists and arts organizations that have been affected financially by the coronavirus shutdowns can once again apply for grants through the Pinellas Arts Community Relief Fund.

Manged by the Pinellas Community Foundation, the fund was created in April by Duggan Cooley, the foundation’s CEO; Barbara St. Clair, executive director of Creative Pinellas; and John Collins, executive director of the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance, who initially started it with a contribution of $70,000. Through more donations, that number grew to $110,000.

Nearly 300 artists and organizations applied for the first round, and about a week later, grants totaling $97,800 were distributed. Eventually, they had to shut down the applications.

Now, after organizers working hard to fundraise while keeping socially distant, the fund has been replenished. Artists and art organizations can visit pinellascf.org/pinellasartsrelief to apply. Award amounts are $500 for individual artists and between $500-$1,500 for arts organizations and creative businesses. You can also donate through that website, for those in need.
