BROOKLYN, Ohio -- After canceling last season because of the coronavirus pandemic, Memphis Kiddie Park, 10340 Memphis Ave., Brooklyn, opened for the 2021 season Saturday (May 29).

It’s been a tradition for the iconic amusement park to open on May 28 -- the date it began its first season in 1952. However, inclement weather on Friday delayed the opening by a day. The rest of the weekend featured beautiful weather and steady crowds.

Park hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week, weather permitting. Ticket prices are $2.50 for a single ticket, $24 for a strip of 10, $38 for a book of 25 and $140 for a pack of 110 tickets. The 25- and 110-ticket packs also include discount tickets for miniature golf. Park tickets never expire.

Miniature golf is $5.50 per player for 18 holes, and $1 for a child 5 or younger who plays with someone paying full price. Tickets can be purchased online or at the park ticket booth.

Park entrance and parking are free. Children can ride all rides if they can sit up by themselves and are up to 50 inches tall with shoes (as measured at the park).

Kiddie Park is operated by Russell Winter and relatives of early park managers. The kid-size rides include the Little Dipper roller coaster -- the oldest steel kiddie coaster in North America -- as well as a scaled-down train and other right-sized rides for young visitors.

Check the Memphis Kiddie Park Facebook page for updates on hours and other park announcements.
